I suppose that this post could go along with technology in a lot of ways. I am grateful for communication. I'm especially grateful for the ease with which we can communicate with those who are far away. Cell phones, computers and such all make it easy for us to talk to others who might be far away.
When I was a kid I used to watch The Jetsons. I thought the video phone in that cartoon was so cool, but I didn't really think it would ever be a reality. Now we can skype with others and talk to them face to face over thousands of miles!
I'm also grateful for being able to communicate in person and spend time with friends and family members. I'm grateful for the ability to read and write. In spite of the many great technologically advanced ways of communicating, I still love getting a letter or card in the mail. It's wonderful that we have so many ways of communicating.

i agree with this. it's amazing how technologically advanced we have become in such a short amount of time.
i still am a little uncomfortable with skyping. i like being able to talk over the phone to someone without makeup and in my pajamas. when i skype without makeup and in my pajamas my parents always ask me if i'm ok or if i'm feeling well. ha. not cool.
and i still like getting letters in the mail..i love christmas time and christmas cards because that is the only time we ever get real mail. and even still, those are diminishing.
With family so far away, I really don't know what I would do if it wasn't so easy to communicate. (Goodness, what would I have done in those Pony Express days ; )
I'm with you on the getting letters or cards in the mail. They just feel different.
And skyping is so wonderful.
