Note to self: Make sure one of the boys becomes a plumber

I woke up to a bathtub full of murky water today and a clogged bathroom sink as well. The sink and the tub connect to the same drain pipe and there is a monster clog in there somewhere. We finally got it to where the sink will sort of drain. The water moves out of the sink at least and comes up through the bathtub drain. We figure the clog is just beyond the spot where the two drains connect to the outlet drain. We spent most of today aside from church trying to unclog the drains to no avail. Tomorrow we will take a more drastic action and hope that it works. I really don't feel like spending hundreds of dollars on a plumber.
I take comfort that although I can't take a shower and will start to smell bad in a day or two, at least I can still flush the toilet and the other faucets and drains in the house all seem okay. Boy I wish we had two bathrooms!

On another note we have been the happy recipients of the ocean's bounty this week. First the clams, and then today our neighbor brought over some fresh sturgeon. We ate sturgeon for dinner. I baked some of it in the oven like I would a salmon, and I fried some of it in Tempura batter. We liked both, but the Tempura fish won out as the favorite. All of the boys had seconds and #1 had four helpings of fish. It was a nice treat, and there was even one more piece of sturgeon that I put in the freezer for later.

Making sure one of them becomes a plumber is a smart idea.

Look at you, being handed fish and knowing what to do with it. My bandana is off to you. :)
