It has been about six months since I have posted on this blog. I don't have many readers, so I don't think anyone missed me too much. I was just burned out on blogging, and really burned out on a lot of things. I think I have recovered enough to make an appearance here occasionally again. I make no promises as to how often.
My kids love Halloween. I love making their costumes. It's true that I have a habit of putting them off and then stressing out about them. And it's true that I am not by any means a professional at making costumes. I barely sew, but I still have fun. For the most part the kids enjoy what I make for them, and I do my best to meet their expectations.
C picked Tanooki Luigi. You can't see his tail in this pic, but he has one. It's basically Luigi with ears and a tail. This one was relatively easy.
S chose to be a Roman Centurion. I think I spent the most time on this costume. His helmet does look a little bit like a chicken head from some angles, but I did the best I could after procrastinating. I feel bad that it isn't better, but I think it turned out okay since I just made it up as I went along.
T loves video games. He thought it would be fun to be a video game for Halloween. This one was relatively easy to put together in a couple of hours.
J as the 11th Doctor from Doctor Who. Most of this was bought and put together. I did make his sonic screwdriver.
B wanted to be Hermione Granger. I sewed the robes and the grey sweater, and put the rest together.
K wanted to be Red Link from the Four Swords game. This isn't a great pic but it's the best one we got that shows his whole costume.
Baby D as Baby Mario. It's always nice when they are young enough to just agree with what you pick. Everything is clothes we already had, and I had sewed the hat a while ago for a different Mario Costume. This was the easiest one.
Phew! Off the hook for another year!

Well I shall become one of your followers,I think you are very talented at putting costumes together, and for so many*** I had five, and thought that was a lot, but then, my grandmother had over 19 of which 12 survived into adulthood, but 7 is a large number anyway... they all look happy and clever, so you are doing something right!!! I will go off and read your other blogs now, hugs from across the pond, one mum, to another, Janzi
I'll just give you the mother of the year award now. I bought my boys costumes at k-mart last year 90% off. :P
Yay, a post from you! The costumes all turned out so fun! Great job!
The Roman Centurion looks fantastic! And seriously, don't ALL Roman Centurion helmets look a bit like chicken heads? I bet he loves how it turned out!
So excited to see a post on your blog!!!!
All the costumes are great. I can't believe how much B looks like Hermione--it is such a cute costume. You did a fabulous job. In fact, you did a great job with all of them.
