Blog Themes

Why is the theme of my blog I Blog About Nothing? At first I thought it would be clever to do a blog about nothing, kind of like Seinfeld was a show about nothing and therefore could cover a variety of topics. I don't know that I want my blog to be associated with Seinfeld though. I decided on blogging about nothing because I don't want to be limited in the scope of what I blog about. When you make friends with someone or you are in a relationship it is often the hours and hours of "talking about nothing" that build up the foundation of your relationship more than a few deep conversations about things of cosmic importance.
I have a friend who says that blogs have to have themes. I didn't want to be constrained by a theme. I have friends whose blogs cover topics like riding a bike instead of driving, not watching TV, and surviving breast cancer...all worthy topics. I also read a blog that has to do with cycling (even though I am not a cyclist-I read that one because the guy that writes the blog is interesting, whitty, and literate, and its a funny blog) and there are a few friends' blogs that I enjoy. I don't have anything interesting enough in my life to base an entire blog on, except for my children, and I don't want my blog to be limited to only the every day joys and sorrows of being a Mom. Sometimes I think it would be nice to write about ANYTHING else. So I chose to blog about nothing...nothing that is full of something, and if some other theme emerges in the process, well then maybe I will change the name of my blog. I doubt that very many people are going to be reading this blog anyhow, so I feel that I can write it for myself.

Theme, what them...? Although I consider my blog a Mommy blog, I often write stories about other things, my grandparents, my childhood, just stuff. Like where I bought crayons and markes for under a dollar. NOW THAT IS BLOG WORTHY!
